North American food company PANOS brands has received sustainability certification from Friend of the Sea for its Yankee Clipper-branded anchovies.
The anchovies are available in supermarket chains throughout the United States and Canada, and will now carry the Friend of the Sea eco-label.
"Consumers and retailers in North America are increasingly aware of harvesting and environmental issues and PANOS is committed to providing certified sustainable seafood," said PANOS CEO Steven Grossman. "Friend of the Sea recognition is a great step ahead and confirmation of the validity of our engagement."
