The fruit juice maker Eisteehersteller Pfanner can look back at a very successful 2013, after achieving record high profits and turnover over the year.
Due to positive developments in its principal markets of Austria, Germany and Italy, Pfanner achieved a record high turnover of €255 million in the 12 month period to 31 December.
The Austrian company, which operates in over 90 countries said that it expects similar growth in 2014.
"Both sales sales developed favorably," says Peter Pfanner, the company's managing director.
Market share in Germany's iced tea and fruit segment expanded and in Italy, where Pfanner is the number 1 seller in the 2-litre juice segment, sales rose.
In its Eastern European business, which accounts for around 13% of overall sales, the fruit juice producer actually suffered a loss.
"The purchasing power in Eastern Europe is will remain problematic. In combination with the general currency turbulence, the predictability in the markets there it is an area designed to be difficult," said Peter Pfanner.
