Nine Cork-based food coFood and Drink Expompanies are to unite under the name ‘Taste Cork” for this year’s Food and Drink Expo which is to be held in NEC Birmingham March 24-26. The Food And Drink Expo 2014 gives companies the opportunity to showcase their products to the international market from their fully branded high-tech stalls.

Tara McCarthy, Bord Bia said, “Ireland’s food sector has an excellent international reputation and our agricultural and seafood products are known all over the world for their outstanding quality. However, we operate in a very competitive global market and building strong national and regional branding is a very important part of ensuring that our food sector continues to build on its success.”

The nine companies; Carrigaline Farmhouse Cheese, Fastnet Catch Ltd, Green Saffron, Irish Atalnic Sea Salt, Just Food, Kinsale Goumet, Taste A Memory, Virginia Health Food Co. and Yawl Bay Seafood, have each taken part in the First Steps to Food Exports programme a training programme funded by Cork County & City Enterprise Boards, Cork County Council and Bord Bia to aid the SME food sector.

The event is one of the biggest of its kind in Europe and covers all sectors of the food and drink market from wholesale to grocery and foodservice, manufacturing to specialty retail.
