British dairy establishment Crediton Dairy has selected dairy farmers supplying Torridge Vale to supply milk.
An agreement to this effect was signed by Torridge Vale and Crediton Dairy, under which 25 Torridge Vale members will switch their supply contracts to Crediton Dairy.
As per the agreed terms, the farmers will supply 35 million liters of milk to the company.
The company will use the milk in the production of flavored, functional and fortified milk drinks, long-life milks and creams.
Crediton Dairy managing director Tim Smiddy said that the company is committed to providing local farmers with a secure and sustainable home for their milk by processing it into value-added products.
"Today's agreement means that more milk from Devon farms will be processed locally and as such this will be a major, long-term boost for the future of dairy farming and processing in the county," added Smiddy.
Crediton will have more than 40 million liters in its dairy supply group, following the addition of the 25 new suppliers to the existing six suppliers.
