Faravelli Group outlines growth opportunities for US operations

Faravelli has identified multiple opportunities in the US, and its ability to offer concepts such as natural alternatives to traditional food additives should give its new US operations a strong foothold in this market, the company stated. The Italian global food distributor announced last week that it had opened its first American outpost of the company in Los Angeles, California.

The company distributes raw materials for a range of markets including food and cosmetics.

“We expect the main growth and opportunities from the food and nutraceutical business where we will be able to offer a wide range of products: from accurately selected commodities coming from the Far East to very special and innovative products coming from the Mediterranean area,” a spokesperson for the company said.

“Non GMO products are also an interesting topic where we have 80 years’ experience coming from our European business,” the spokesperson said. “We then believe that the trend toward “clean labels” for consumer products will represent an opportunity for us. We can in fact offer “natural” alternatives to certain “traditional” food additives which could help our customers in launching new products or “fine tuning” (existing product lines).”

The spokesperson also noted that there are also relatively consolidated topics like ‘glycemic index’ where the company can play a role with innovative products coming from Italy.

The new US company, Faravelli Inc, will be responsible for opening new commercial channels across the entire US market, by proposing a rich list of raw materials and ingredients specifically meant for the food, feed and nutraceuticals industry.

“The United States is a real milestone in the growth process of the Faravelli Group,” explained Group CEO, Luca Benati. “We will exploit our long-lasting sales expertise to approach a market which is so huge and competitive on one side, but which – on the other side – does offer a really amazing range of business opportunities.”

The opening of Faravelli Inc., which will have its registered office in Manhattan, New York; confirms the highly cosmopolitan nature of Faravelli Group, a company with strong Italian roots but which has always believed in internationalization of business as a strong business growth factor.

In 2013 the prestigious chemistry magazine ‘ICIS Chemical Business’ ranked Faravelli Group at 54th place among European top distributors and the 107th in the world.

The Group headquarters are based in Milano, while sister companies are based in Hamburg (Germany), Prague (Czech Rep), Shanghai (China), Barcelona (Spain), and now Los Angeles too.
