Scarborough-base Parrs first met with LVF to outline the project requirements on January 3rd, 2014. Five days later new tooling for the three jobs had been designed and was in production, and on January 16th LVF delivered 55,000 thermoformed moulds spread across three different designs to Parrs.
John Grimshaw, managing director of Parrs Confectionary, said: “Although they came highly recommended by a number of different business contemporaries, I was still surprised by the level of service provided by LVF.”
“They were extremely flexible; very professional; understood what we wanted straight away; got everything right first time; and, if that wasn’t enough, the speed with which they turned round the job from scratch was truly astonishing.”
Two of the products LVF worked on for Parrs were Valentine’s gifts – one a milk chocolate heart, the other a design your own chocolate love heart –, while the third was a make your own chocolate lollipop designed for nationwide launch for the Easter 2014 market.
For each product, LVF developed bespoke tooling that was used on their thermoforming machines to produce plastic moulds. These were then then injected with liquid chocolate by Parrs for the Valentine’s milk chocolate hearts, and filled with chocolate pieces for the Easter pack – thus enabling the customer to mould their own chocolate lollipops.
Nigel Coates, managing director of LVF, said: “Reputation is everything in this business and so we aim to enhance ours every day by striving to ensure no customer is ever let down or left disappointed by what we’ve done and how we’ve gone about it.”
John Grimshaw added: “After the experience we had working with LVF we had absolutely no hesitation awarding them sole-supplier status for all our thermoformed packaging needs – a relationship that I am confident will be a long and valuable one for us both.”
