Aimed at the tourist gift market, the new range was produced using Smurfit Kappa’s T Flute micro flute.
The packs consist of a fleet of 3 Grandma Wilds Campervans, packed full of clotted cream fudge, bitesize chocolate chip or bitesize clotted cream biscuits.
T Flute can be formed around a tight radii and is ideal to replicate the curves required for the Campervan. T flute can be directly litho printed on conventional presses so no need for laminating.
David Batty, director at FDB Design, said: “We considered and explored several options before making the decision to focus upon the iconic campervan which has become synonymous with surfer dudes and also a global cult classic. The interesting shapes and curves present & unusual and attractive image allowing us to use some really eye catching colours and patterns whilst also having fun with the driver and passenger illustrations on the pack.”
The constructional design was produced by Concept Packaging, and the printing was provided by specialist carton manufacturer Herbert Walkers.
