On April 15, 2014, Zhang Yong, Minister of China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA), met with the delegation led by Rona Ambrose, Minister of Health Canada, and Guy Saint-Jacques, Ambassador of Canada to China.
Both parties reviewed the history of cooperation between both countries on drug and medical device supervision; exchanged views on reform of the food and drug supervision system, development of laws and regulations, and supervision of traditional Chinese medicines; discussed specific suggestions on further deepening and expanding cooperation between both sides. Main directors of CFDA's Department of International Cooperation, Department of Food Safety Supervision I, Department of Food Safety Supervision II, Department of Food Safety Supervision III, Department of Drug and Cosmetics Registration, and Department of Science, Technology and Standards attended the meeting.
