Borouge, a Singapore-based manufacturer of plastic products, has introduced two advanced grades to the BorPure high density polyethylene caps and closures range.
Developed using Borstar multimodal polyethylene (PE) technology platform, the new BorPure MB5568 and MB5569 grades will be used for caps and closures for carbonated soft drinks, juices, tea and bottled water.
The Borstar technology will allow the tailoring of PE mechanical and processing properties to meet specific application needs using less material.
The grades are also said to offer an average of 50% and 10% improvement respectively in stiffness and environmental stress crack resistance.
Borouge Marketing Centre Moulding marketing manager James Ong said converters and brand owners can produce lighter closures using BorPure MB5568 and MB5569 grades.
"In doing so, they also reduce the carbon footprint of their products and consequently contributing to environmental sustainability," added Ong.
