Speciality food importer and distributor Bespoke Foods has unveiled new maximum stand-out, environmentally friendly packaging for its Thai Taste brand, which is the fastest growing brand in the Thai category.
Launched in 2004, Thai Taste consists of over fifty products, all exclusively made in Thailand from fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives.
The new packaging formats have helped reduce the amount of packaging by 69% to enhance the brand’s environmentally friendly credentials, while also providing more impact and visibility in-store.
The packaging revamp will see the Green and Red Curry Thai Taste meal kits changed from the current plastic boxes to tear off pouches.
With Thai food occasions on the increase in UK, the versatile Green and Red Curry Pastes, which previously came in tubs, will now be available in re-sealable pouches for easy use and to retain freshness once opened.
Bespoke Foods’ associate marketing director Carine Gauyet said:
“The Thai Taste brand has played a key role in driving consumer interest for Thai cuisine in the UK and we feel the new packaging for these core lines was essential in order to keep momentum and drive further awareness and growth.
“The sleek pouches not only retain the brand’s authentic character and provide better on-shelf stand out, but they are also easier for consumers to use at home and retailers to manage on-shelf.
“Most importantly, by reducing packaging we are making the brand “greener”, which is extremely important to Thai Taste’s customer base and Bespoke Foods.”
The Thai Taste meal kits are sold in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado, Morrisons and Tesco priced from £2.28 in 224g formats, while the Red and Green Curry Pastes are available in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado and Tesco from £1.88 per 200g pouch.
