Broo Ltd the nationalistic Beer Company guaranteed to remain Australian owned, is launching their latest edition, an on premise Tap Brand, AUSTRALIA DRAUGHT. This will take place on Anzac Day, at Transport Hotel located at Federation Square in Melbourne, Victoria.
This beer's uniqueness is its unprecedented commitment to support soldier welfare. 20% of all profits made from sales of AUSTRALIA DRAUGHT are donated to soldier welfare programs including the Commando Welfare Trust, SAS Resources Fund and Wandering Warriors Inc.
AUSTRALIA DRAUGHT has also undertaken an initiative seeking to provide employment to ex - Australian Defence Force personnel and already employs ex-Australian Special Forces Soldiers.
Brand ambassador is Australian Veteran Damien Thomlinson who suffered horrific injuries after his unit drove over an improvised explosive device in southern Afghanistan during April 2009. "The beer and its cause are worthy of Australia's support" Damien says. "Basically, a sip out of every Australia Draught is being donated to charity. Its association with soldier welfare is incredibly important to me and that importance is now being recognised by all Australians."
Steve Pilmore (OAM, 47yr Veteran), Trust Executive Officer, Commando Welfare Trust states, "The Commando Welfare Trust exists to provide funding particularly for education to families of Australian Commandos who have lost their lives, or their health, both on operations or training for deployments. It is appropriate therefore that an Australian Corporation such as Broo Ltd, through its quintessential 'Australia Draught', supports the Commando Welfare Trust and for that support we are extremely grateful."
Ann Edwards (OAM), Trust Manager, SAS Resources Fund says, "This is a very exciting project and we are indeed honoured the SAS Resources Fund has been chosen as one of the recipients. We hope to see Australia Draught become the favourite beer of all Australians. Broo Limited's generous support for the work we do to support the families of the members of the Australian Special Air Service (SAS) Regiment is very much appreciated."
Audie Moldre, CEO, Wandering Warriors believes Australia Draught is "a fantastic initiative undertaken by a great Australian Company. Our members are SASR veterans of Australia's military conflicts over the past 50 years. We have no paid positions, we volunteer our time, energy and resources to raise funds for wounded, injured or ill veterans and their families. We are incredibly grateful to Broo Ltd for our involvement and believe once Australian's understand the foundational values behind this initiative and the direct impact this support will provide, Australia Draught will become Australia's beer of choice."
