New Zealand-based microbrewery Harrington’s Breweries has finalized the acquisition of Matson’s brewery in the country, in order to cater to the increasing consumer demand for beer.
Through this acquisition, Harrington's has increased its brewing capacity to 85,000 liters per week, as well as doubled its bottling capacity and expanded warehousing and logistics facilities.
Harrington's Breweries owner/operator Carl Harrington said the company's initial goal is to increase production of its range of beers to catch up to national demand.
"As a team we have put many ideas on hold for the last few years, now with increased production, this next chapter in our history will allow us to action some of the other exciting opportunities for Harrington's," Harrington added.
Harrington's is also providing contract brewing and bottling facilities for other craft brewers such as Three Boys Brewery, The Yeastie Boys, and Valkyrie.
In addition, the company intends to install a full-scale canning facility, upgrade brewing tanks and equipment.
