Burger restaurant company Smashburger has entered into a new partnership with Udi’s Gluten Free, to introduce a gluten-free bun offering at all US Smashburger locations.

Smashburger founder and chief concept officer Tom Ryan said that practicing a gluten-free diet is an emerging consumer trend, and Udi's is the clear quality leader in the gluten-free category.

"The addition of Udi's gluten-free buns fits in well with our strategy of marketing to consumers looking for gluten-free menu options," Ryan added.

The gluten-free market has grown over 200% since 2010, and in order to address the growing demand for gluten-free menu items, Smashburger has reformulated the seasoning that goes on its burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches to be gluten-free.
