Switzerland-based beverage packaging provider Sidel has secured three major contracts from Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (Coca-Cola HBC) for projects in Nigeria, Russia and Belarus.
As per the agreed terms, the company will equip Coca-Cola HBC's plant in Moscow, Russia with a new line comprising a Sidel Matrix Combi, a Sidel Matrix Labeller, a mixer, two packers, a handle applicator, a conveyor, a high-level linear palletizer and a stretch wrapper.
With the installation of new line, the Moscow plant will have a capacity to produce 500ml and 1,500ml PET bottles at a rate of 45,000 and 33,500 bottles per hour, respectively.
Coca-Cola HBC's Ikeja plant in Nigeria will see the installation of a complete new bottling line, which will produce carbonated soft drinks.
The line will enable production of PET bottles in 500ml format at a capacity of 42,000 bottles and 1,500ml formats at 22,000 bottles on an hourly basis.
The installation at the Ikeja plant will begin in May and the line is expected to produce first saleable products in early July 2014.
In addition, the Coca-Cola HBC plant in Minsk, Belarus, has installed Sidel Eurostar, the mechanical pressure level filler for bottles and its accompanying Sidel rollfed labeler.
The line in Minsk plant is already underway producing 9,000 2l bottles an hour.
