To build on consumer macro trends of healthy eating and busier lives, Urban Fruit has announced the launch of a new smaller 35g impulse format to its range.
With sales growth of 114% over the past two years, and incoming governmental regulations encouraging healthy eating (including increasing pressure to remove crisps and snacks at till points), the brand is on track to deliver over 34m portions of fruit in 2014- the equivalent to a portion of fruit for every other person in the UK.
The snack packs are fitted with ‘Euro Hooks’ for hanging in key impulse locations such as on check out and clip strips, and by sandwiches to drive a lunchtime eating occasion.
The smaller 35g packs will be available in three separate varieties: Mango, Pineapple and Strawberry.
Giles Brook, founding partner of Bear Nibbles and Urban Fruit said: “Consumers’ lives are getting busier, and it’s really important for brands to meet consumer needs by providing healthy snacks on the go.
“We launched Urban Fruit to give consumers the genuinely healthy snack that they were asking for and to make fruit snacking simpler, more engaging, and a lot more mobile.
“The heightened focus in the government and media on the need for healthy eating, combined with increasingly busy lives, makes the need for healthy offerings on-the-go all the more pertinent, which is why we’ve launched our new Urban Fruit ‘snack packs’.
“Our new 35g packs, which will be merchandised at till points, in queue management systems and adjacent to sandwich chillers, are the perfect companion for a healthier lunchtime.
“We have also seen extensive interest from contract catering and Urban Fruit will be a great top drawer snack for office workers who are looking for a healthy afternoon snack.”
Snack pack stockists are: Boots, Superdrug, Ocado, AMT, Compass with Restaurant Associates, and the RRP is £1.
