With sprouted whole grain breads, buns and specialty items that are made using only non-GMO ingredients, pure U.S.A.-sourced honey, and no artificial sweeteners, fats or preservatives, Angelic Bakehouse is on trend with what health-conscious and mainstream consumers are looking for, and major Minneapolis retailers are taking notice.
Angelic Bakehouse, a Wisconsin-based company that produces a variety of sprouted whole grain products, has expanded product distribution with several major Minneapolis retailers such as Lunds & Byerly's, Kowalski's, Whole Foods Markets and one of the highest grossing sales-per-square-foot co-op in the country, the Wedge Community Co-op.
"We are thrilled to see such growth and success in the Minneapolis metro area," says Jenny Marino, CEO of Angelic Bakehouse. "We are in the age of informed consumerism and people expect more from the companies they shop with, and these Minneapolis retailers recognize that. People want great-tasting, better-for-you options that are not laced with preservatives, chemicals or other 'cheapening agents,' that is exactly what we offer."
Due to superior nutritional benefits, a low glycemic index, higher protein values and ease of digestion, sprouted whole grain products have seen a quick increase in popularity with both mainstream and health-conscious consumers. In anticipation of this increase and to keep up with current demand for its sprouted products, Angelic Bakehouse moved into a new 3,200-square-foot facility and increased production. "Not only are our sprouted whole grain products better for you nutritionally compared to products made with traditional flour," says Marino, "but we only use pure, non-GMO ingredients. There's a demand for products like Angelic, and we're ready to satisfy that need."
