Streamline Foods, manufacturers of jams and marmalades and specialists in the reduced sugar sector, has announced the launch of a brand new range of Fruit Shoot less sugar squeezy jams, to be produced under license from Britvic.
The range will comprise three flavours to mirror the Fruit Shoot drinks range: Apple & Blackcurrant, Strawberry & Summer Fruits, and Orange.
Each product will contain 30% less sugar than standard jams, and be made with 45% fruit.
The jams will also be completely smooth, to appeal to children, and contain no artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners.
Séverine Brault, Marketing Manager for Streamline Foods, said:
“This is the first child-friendly product we have produced, and we believe it will fly off the shelves.
“Parents are increasingly looking for ways to reduce their children’s sugar intake, while the kids themselves are more concerned with how it tastes.
“The squeezy Fruit Shoot jams tick both boxes and retail buyers have said they are pleased to see true innovation happening in the category.”
“It’s also the first time we have worked with Britvic to produce something under license and we are very optimistic about its success.
“The squeezy jams taste extraordinarily similar to the drinks and we are confident that we are filling a gap in the existing market with these products.
“It’s all part of a longer term strategy within the market to reduce sugar and slowly change children’s palates.”
The packaging reflects that of the Fruit Shoot drinks range, giving it a familiar presence on the shelf, and the squeezy, easy open/close bottles mean they can be used independently by children with less mess.
The full range of three flavours will be launching this summer in Londis, Budgens, Asda and Tesco with an RSP of £1.59 for a 300g bottle.
All products in the range are suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs.
