The price ceiling levels for Abbott, Nestle, Friesland Campina Vietnam, Mead Johnson and Vinamilk have been set from June 1-12 by Ministry of Finance and since then, famous brandnames such as Big C, Co.op Mart, Maximark have carried out seriously.
Big C External Director Ho Quoc Nguyen said that Big C Supermarket systems have immediately applied new retail price for milk produces following regulations of Ministry of Finance.
Representative of Vietnamese leading retail supermarket systems like Co.opMart, Maximark also affirmed that new retail price for milk produces for children under six years old is cheaper than the price ceiling level, announced by Ministry of Finance.
On June 20, over 316 milk produces across the country registered new price level with the Ministry of Finance and the Department of Finance of HCMC. With the price ceiling level, wholesale prices are cheaper than old price level of 31 percent.
Representative of Communication Service of Co-operative Mart reported that currently, Co-operative Mart supermarket has applied new milk price not only for 25 milk produces for children under six years old in following with regulations of Ministry of Finance but also 100 milk produces of other enterprises as aiming to boost the consumption.
However, some retailers still have blatantly sold milk produces with many different prices.
Talking with reporter of Saigon Giai Phong newspaper, Ngoc Lan shared that she ever bought a box of 900 grams Enfamil A+1 at mini milk shop located on Cach Mang Thang Tam street with higher price level than the price ceiling level of VND 96,000.
To fix insufficient, HCMC Market Management Bureau said that Bureau will continue to control closely milk prices at the retail market in the upcoming time.
