The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that containers labeled as “Cold Pressed Apple Juice” and sold in Whole Foods Market stores in Arizona, California, and Nevada have been recalled by Urban Remedy. These containers actually contain Urban Remedy’s “Non-Dairy Spiced Golden Milk” – a product that contains tree nut (specifically, cashew) allergens.
The mislabeled Golden Milk product was packaged in 16-ounce plastic bottles affixed with Whole Foods Market “Cold Pressed Apple Juice” labels. They are stamped with the “Best By” date of May 7, 2017 and the UPC code 1337702154.
Undeclared nut allergens pose a serious health threat to those who are allergic to them. Consuming these allergens can cause illness or death by anaphylaxis shock. People who purchased the mislabeled “Cold Pressed Apple Juice” should either dispose of the bottles or return them, with their receipts, to their place of purchase for a full refund.
