Liz Nordlie has been promoted to president of Small Planet Foods, a unit of General Mills, Inc. that makes products under the Cascadian Farm, Muir Glen, Larabar and Food Should Taste Good brands. She succeeds Michele Meyer, who has been named president of the company’s Meals division.
In addition to being president of Small Planet Foods, Ms. Nordlie is a vice-president for General Mills. She joined the company in 1995 as associate marketing manager, and she has been a marketing manager and business director during her nearly 20-year career with the company.
Earlier, she was an account executive with Houston, Effler & Partners and with Leo Burnett.
She received a bachelor’s degree at Colby College and a master’s degree in business administration from the Amos Tuck School of Business. She also attended the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Ken Powell, chairman and chief executive officer of General Mills, said during a June 25 conference call with analysts that Ms. Nordlie’s promotion was one of several organizational moves made in search of “greater focus, greater prioritization, more fluid allocation of resources.”
