Heinz Unveils New Beans and Pulses Cans

The new range includes Heinz Fajita Beanz, Heinz Tuscan Beanz and Heinz Veg Chilli Beanz, which are best served as a side, filling or an ingredient.

The new range of Heinz Beanz and Pulses delivers flavour fusions and chunky textures in a bid to appeal to the adult palate of the 25-44 year old target market.

The Heinz Fajita Beanz recipe is a mix of pinto beans in a spicy chilli and coriander sauce with a hint of lime, designed to bring rice to life, add a kick to chicken or liven up pork.

Heinz Tuscan Beanz are cannellini beans in a roasted garlic, basil and chunky tomato sauce, designed for pouring over chicken, stirring into pasta dishes, or as a side for pork chops.

Heinz Veg Chilli Beanz are packed full of red kidney beans in tomato salsa and smoked chilli sauce, designed for adding to a chilli con carne, as a dip for nachos or as a topping for tasty tacos

Providing consumers with two of their five a day in just half a can, each variety is naturally high in fibre and low in sugar and fat.

With no artificial colour, flavour or preservatives, the range offers consumers who are short of time a convenient meal, packed full of goodness, in just two and a half minutes.

Available on shelf from early July, the range is packaged in the trusted and familiar can format of traditional Heinz Beanz.

The contemporary label design and on pack serve suggestions will inspire consumers to experiment in the kitchen and bring a new dimension to their meals without always having to be a culinary expert.

The launch will be supported with a £1.5million marketing campaign from August including national TV and radio advertising, plus PR and in store activation.

Nina Shanahan, Innovation Manager at Heinz, said:

“Our research shows us that consumers want to experiment with new dishes and expand their repertoire; however they don’t feel that they have the time or the culinary expertise.

“The new Heinz Beanz and Pulses range enables consumers who are short of time to embark on a flavour adventure to liven up their everyday meal times in minutes.

“We are confident that the new Heinz Beanz and Pulses range will deliver on expectation and reinforce to shoppers that if you want to bring your meals to life, IT HAS TO BE HEINZ.”

The new products have an RRP of £1.29 and can be found next to the canned kidney beans aisle in supermarkets nationwide.
