Just in time for the summer season, this limited edition, orange-flavoured liqueur is the latest spirit to emerge from the Adnams Copper House Distillery, since it unveiled its very first whiskies at the end of last year. Inspired by the traditional 19th century French liqueur, it can be served perfectly straight over ice, or in cocktails such as Margaritas and Cosmopolitans.
Head distiller, John McCarthy, comments: “The Adnams Triple Sec is a beautiful liqueur and a fantastic addition to any cocktail cabinet. Made with both bitter and sweet orange, we steep the peel in Adnams’ premium Longshore Vodka and then re-distil it in small batches in a copper pot still. This gives us an intensely sweet and fruity flavour, as well as wonderful notes of fresh orange, which is just fantastic. With only a limited supply available, we don’t anticipate it will be around for long!”
The new spirit also features a new bottle design, created by CookChick Design in Brighton. Founder and owner Lee Cook comments: “Adnams gave us a very open design brief for the Triple Sec allowing our creativity run riot to develop something really fun and progressive. The design combines all the characteristics of the liqueur within Adnams’ coastal cool brand image. It offers a gentle nod to the golden age of cocktails, featuring the classic art-deco sun motif. Screen printing directly onto the glass produces a vivid and premium finish giving a true reflection of the new, fun and fresh approach that Adnams has to crafting spirits.”
