La Costeña buys canned beans producer Faribault Foods

La Costeña, a US-based packaged foods firm and the parent company of Arizona Canning, has acquired canned beans and vegetables manufacturer Faribault Foods for an undisclosed amount.

As part of the acquisition, both the companies will operate as Faribault Foods and the current Faribault Foods' management team, employees and facilities will be retained as part of the combined company's operations.

Arizona Canning president and CEO Albert Hoflack said that with the acquisition, Arizona Canning and Faribault Foods have merged their brand portfolios and expand their footprint.

"We welcome the addition of Faribault Foods' talented team to our own. Together, our goal is to provide customers with superior branded products, private label and contract manufacturing capabilities, and grow our U.S. Business," added Hoflack.

Faribault Foods currently offers S&W canned beans, Butter Kernel, Kuner's and Kuner's Southwestern, Chilliman, Mrs. Grimes, Pride and KC Masterpiece baked beans. Faribault Foods also has strong private label and contract manufacturing business with top branded companies.
