OGL Resources has announced plans to construct a wheat based food ingredient and ethanol production plant in Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia, with an investment of around $300m.
An agreement to this effect was signed by OGL Resources, Henan Lotus Flower Gourmet Power and Gezhouba Xinjiang, Foodmagazine reported.
As per the agreed terms, the company will employ wheat-based monosodium glutamate production and management technology.
The proposed plant is first among the four, agreed by the company to be constructed in the region.
OGL Resources executive director Mathew Kelley said that proposed plans "has the potential to become a key infrastructure asset for the local and global food community."
Construction on the plant is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2015 once the required approvals are secured, and will be completed in 2016.
