ConAgra Foods is planning to cease operations at its cookie manufacturing facility in Ripon, in the US state of Wisconsin.
The move will put close to 300 jobs at risk, with the job cuts to be completed by December this year, FOX 11 reported. The west Ripon plant manufactures enrobed cookies.
Commenting on the closure, ConAgra Foods spokesperson Dan Hare said: "Following an extensive evaluation of our plant network, we have determined that we need to close the soft bake and enrobed cookies facility in Ripon.
"People can apply for other positions with ConAgra Foods if they choose."
ConAgra said that the closure will not have an impact on its east plant, which manufactures wafer cookies.
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to stop RyKrisps crackers production at its plant in Southeast Minneapolis, citing low demand.
Based in Nebraska, ConAgra acquired RyKrisps brand in 2012 when it bought Ralcorp Holdings.
