Core Tip: Boulder Canyon Foods, a brand owned by US-based Inventure Foods, has introduced new potato chips cooked in coconut oil to its existing range of kettle cooked potato chip range.
The new Coconut Oil Kettle Cooked Potato Chips are made with potatoes, coconut oil and sea salt by employing Boulder's kettle method, which provides 22% less fat when compared to traditional continuous-cooking methods.

These chips claim to contain no trans fats, no cholesterol and no MSG, like all other Boulder Canyon snacks.

Boulder's Coconut Oil Kettle Cooked Potato Chips are also gluten-free, Kosher-certified and Non-GMO Project-verified.

Boulder Canyon Authentic Foods senior vice president and general manager Steve Sklar said: "We've introduced a number of chips cooked in premium oils in the past year, including olive and avocado oils, so we felt coconut oil was really the next frontier.

"In this case, the coconut oil imparts a subtle flavor that isn't so much sweet as it is buttery and rich. At the same time, the finish is incredibly light and clean. We touch it with just a hint of sea salt so as not to mask any of the natural flavors, and the result is a potato chip that is different than anything you can find in the snack food aisle today."
