2012,graduated from an ordinary university,I started my Career. What I studied in school is food, so at beginning I choosed to develop product in a listed company. Stable life, stable income, harmonious social relations, everything looks so good, but I switched to other job without hesination half year later.
Due to family reasons, the wage come from my development job can't meet my need. House, car and so many other factors have brought young people so many trouble. So for changing the situation, I choosed sales job. Also many great master always advocate
that sales job can bring us lots of money and 80% manager comes from sales stuffs. These things also had a certain impact on me.
Finally I choosed to sale food additive because I don't want to dissipate the knowledge which I studied in university.
I was full of passion, confidence the first time to do the job. I tried to visit strangers, market by phone, market via email, also attended many food expo. I often loss potential clients due to lack of experience, which made me very depress, but I choosed to go on struggling.
However, new question appeared. The house I selected is 1000$/㎡ while my salary is 500$/㎡。And my family can't help me because there is no extra money to support me. So I had to think that how to add the order form.
Then I started to attend some lectures that held by some well-known masters, also attended some discuss about how to sale. I read many books related to sale products. However the most thing influence me until now I acquiredd is internet thinking!
Then I started to think, how can I combine the internet thinking and sales job.
I made attemps mainly from below several aspects
1. Attempting to become more group of qq, facebook and so on like crazy. It looks very simple, however that is not true. I must do a lot of things to make my account looks like valuable to group. I made a lot of mistakes which many people still make today at that time such as released ad information like crazy. As a result, I not only made few business, but also removed from group by group managers. What was wose was that they informed each other that not allow my account to enter into the group, and so do my other spare accounts.
Afterwards, I met a group manager who is very instered in chatting with other. He told me that I should often talk with other in group and attend some hot topics they were discussing. And I should let more members know my screen name, such other members might pay some attenton to my occasional ad. Now I have forgotten his name, only know he is managing a English website: www.foodmate.com, and he also have some accounts in facebook, twitter and so on. From this thing I know that pure ads only makes people to hate you and people likes to do business with acquaintances.
Afterwards, I did get some orders from groups, and also summarized some experience. According to my statistics, we could get an order from 50-100 potential member who is willing to chat with you! The business also relate to the quality of your prodcuts and your negotiation skills.
2. With more and more friends in food industry I got, I started to build some groups. I put all my friends into associated group. We often talked with each other for some ordinary things, such as weather, culture, food industry topics, and also we would introduct some customer to each other. For protecting these groups from unrelated person and ads, I chatted for topics such as his career, what he can supply and what he need and the purpose he join the group with each people who wanted to join the group. Surprisingly,I got many orders from this process. At the same time, sharing the information from the chatting also provided many business chances to group members. 3、Afterwards, I found many people releas product information on platforms such as alibaba,made in china and so on. I started to try.
Well-known platform owe a huge advantage such as many business chance from numrous people. However, they also have a distinct disadvantage that can't be ignored such as lots of junk information. Further more, well-known platforms provide less service for free, and main service is not free. I told boss to make an attempt to release proudcts with some fee, but the boss didn't agree, so I abandoned the use of these platforms.
Although I didn't take advantage of these well-known platforms, but this isn't my willingness. I continue to believe that openness is the future trend . So I consulted many people who do well in food sales area. Unexpectedly, I really got some platforms which not only provide many services but also totally free, such as GlobalFoodMate , a platform specialized in food industry. I release some products information on it and often to refresh them. One month later, I receaved the first inquiry information and since then I often receive some information. Such I get more and more order and also more and more salary.
Of course, not everyone can do so well.
