With its U.S. market introduction at Sprouts Farmers Market Stores, AQUA Carpatica will continue to elevate the conversation about nitrates in drinking water, raising awareness and discussion regarding stricter content labeling in the U.S. and nitrate consumption by pregnant women and infants.
AQUA Carpatica offers naturally untouched mineral and spring waters of the highest quality, generated from a unique land deep within the Carpathian Mountains, one of the remaining untamed forests of Eastern Europe. Purified by nature, AQUA Carpatica is sourced from two springs located over 200 meters underground. With no agriculture or industrial activity in the surrounding areas, it's like going back to a time before chemicals, fertilizers, CFCs and other contaminants even existed. In these ancient springs, there are no processing plants, no human interference – only the purest water, as natural today as it was at the beginning of time.
Aqua Carpatica's naturally sparkling mineral water is sourced from the Paltinis aquifer, where a blanket of metamorphic rocks surrounds and protects a naturally sparkling mineral spring, totally free from nitrate pollution or any other chemical, microbiological or physical impurity. The still spring water is derived from the Bajenaru aquifer, which is located about 1km away. This aquifer is the result of similar geological phenomena, consisting of porous formations surrounded by metamorphic ones. The still water is harvested at the surface using the latest environmentally friendly technology that allows for its unmatched purity to be preserved. The still spring water is free of impurities, with a very low nitrate concentration.

AQUA Carpatica is dedicated to educating consumers regarding the dangers of nitrates in drinking water, as exemplified by the brand's international campaigns enacted to inform the public about the content of their drinking water.
With its launch in Romania, AQUA Carpatica fought to enact a new law requiring companies to list nitrate concentration on every water label, and also campaigned to lower the maximum allowed nitrate concentration in drinking water to levels recommended by medical professionals in countries throughout the EU. In the U.S., there is currently no regulation regarding nitrates and infants that differs from the 10 mg/l NO3-N Maximum Contaminant Level limit for adults (50 mg/l N according to the EU measurements), whereas countries like Austria, France, Germany, and Italy have enacted protective legislation requiring nitrate content lower than 2.27 mg/l NO3-N (10 mg/l N according to the EU measurements) in order to claim the product is healthy for infants.
