The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) has launched the “AFFI Trade and Regulatory Database,” an online tool the organization says is designed to help AFFI members navigate global regulatory policies that affect the trade of frozen fruit and vegetable products.

The database allows members to analyze food safety and regulatory requirements in Canada, Chile, China, Codex, the European Union, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico and South Korea. AFFI says the database also provides foreign suppliers with information on US regulatory compliance requirements.

Regulatory issues covered by the database include packaging and labeling requirements, import requirements, tariffs and taxes, information on trade agreements and negotiation, and pesticide Maximum Residue Levels for a rage of frozen fruits and vegetables including blueberries, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, corn, green beans, peas, potatoes and strawberries.

“AFFI’s new International Trade and Regulatory Database is designed to save frozen fruit and vegetable producers time and resources by providing them with a one-stop-shop for information on regulatory requirements,” said Kraig Naasz, AFFI president and CEO. “This new tool is part of AFFI’s ongoing commitment to provide our members with data and analysis that enhances their ability to conduct business around the globe.”
