11th essay of biennial exhibition FoodPro to unveil in Chennai on Aug 28

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising the 11th edition of FoodPro 2015, a biennial event on food processing & packaging technology. The event will be held from August 28 to 30, 2015, at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai.

The event is expected to provide the industry excellent trade opportunities and a business platform, according to organisers.

The highlights of the event include an over 10,000 sq m exhibition area covering every aspect of food processing, packaging & technology industry and enabling over 200 exhibitors to participate. It will also host a dedicated National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) pavilion. The focus will be on food processing machinery, plants and equipment, bakery, meat and poultry processing, processed and ready-to-eat foods, and packaging & printing.

Further, the Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Centre (TNTDPC) of CII is also organising a one-day conference on Future of Food Processing Technology on August 28, 2015, at the Chennai Trade Centre. The objective of the conference is to promote and provide technology-based knowledge sharing among the stakeholders of the agro and food processing sectors. It would highlight the expanding role of emerging technologies, global food industry trends and functionality in this domain with emphasis on applications and benefits of emerging technologies, with a market focus.

Among the sessions would be a discussion on the key technology trends under CEO’s Session on Future of Food Processing Industry which will provide details on Innovation & New Product Development, Brand Creation, Retailing, Channel Management & Logistics, Pricing & Financial Issues in Marketing.

Under the session on Innovative Processing and Food Products, the focus will be on drying technologies, frying technologies, IQF (individual quick frozen) products of vegetables, fruits and pulp, seafoods, snack foods and meat.

The session on Emerging Technologies in Food Processing Sector would provide perspectives on advances in processing technologies, process efficiency technologies, trends in storage, handling and packaging technologies.

The deliberations on Food Safety & Consumer Awareness will give a peek into the prerequisite approvals, food regulations, export & import procedure and sales tax guidelines for food & beverages.

Around 250 senior personnel representing CEOs, industry leaders and senior executives of leading manufacturers of processed & packaged foods, technology providers, post-harvest technology, processing equipment manufacturers, producer companies, food safety solutions provider, exporters; retail chains and government agencies are expected to attend this conference, according to the organisers.
