The agency identified the fault during an investigation trigerred in the wake of a recent food safety scare in the country.
The Yippee noodles samples collected from a local mall in Aligarh in June were found to contain excessive lead levels.
These samples were tested at a laboratory in Lucknow and Meerut, reported Press Trust of India.
FDA Aligarh Division Head of Department Chandan Pandey said the lead content which is supposed to be less than one parts per million (ppm) was found to be 1.057ppm.
The agency is planning to initiate legal proceedings against the company as the consumption of foods containing excess lead may cause harm, particularly to children.
The recent food safety problem in Nestle Maggi noodles was also first discovered by the state FDA.
The Bombay High Court has recently revoked the ban on Maggi noodles, and ordered regulators to undertake new tests on the product
