Yesterday, a new international food promotional campaign of food, called "Foods From Chile, Source of Life" was launched. The President of the Republic, Michelle Bachelet, representatives of Direcon-ProChile, and the Ministry of Agriculture attended the launch.
The "Foods from Chile, Source of Life" initiative comes after, by the end of last year, the Ministry of Agriculture formed the Public-Private Food Exporter Council to address the challenges of the industry. Among the agreements was the creation of a cross-mark to enhance international promotion of national food and drinks.
The campaign has been applied for nearly three months in all the food promotion activities taking place in the world, both through ProChile and through the sector trademarks of this industry.
"We will build the strength we need through instances of joint work, such as the council. The global market economy has its challenges and requires efforts that only strategic cooperation between the public and private sectors allow," said the head of state to the businessmen, exporters, producers, chefs and various stakeholders in the sector.
According to the Government, "Foods from Chile, Source of Life" informs the public about the features that make the country a supplier of quality food recognized worldwide, highlighting five key attributes: "Quality, safety, traceability, international security and natural flavor."
"Our foods continue to gain ground in the world and we needed a campaign that would enhance the country's image, unifying the story of the food supply, the quality of origin, and that reflected the work of each of the members of this chain, from small farmers to large exporters, "said the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Furche.
The holder of Direcon, Andres Rebolledo, said that the Chilean food was a great ambassadors of the country around the world, and that this campaign "highlights the attributes of Chile, the same that have managed to make it a world class exporter and the first exporter of products such as blueberries, grapes and cherries, among others," he said.
Chile has been promoting this new campaign at a stand in Expo Milano, Italy.
