Trifecta Entertainment Pvt. Ltd has announced 10 Heads Festival to kick off the festive season. The multi-dimensional four-day festival will begin on October 22, 2015, at the Dhanchiri Camping Resort on NH-8.
With 10 mini festivals rolled into one, the event packs in 10 key interest areas. Among the 10 mini festivals, the gastronomical experience titled Foodistaan will feature over 30 varieties of culinary practices from nook and corner of India and the world. From top ranking restaurants to street food, gourmet and wellness bazaars, a spice fair to farmers’ market, the festival will offer everything for a foodie.
Curated by chef Saby (Sabyasachi Gorai), the mini festival will also feature Hidden Gems – a treasure trove of food vendors with a plethora of traditional dishes that are trademark of well-known hotspots from across the country – Taufiq Ki Biryani, Mathura Ki Kachori, Daulat Ki Chaat, Lotan Choley Wala to name a few.
Saby explains, “With Foodistan, there was a clear focus on variety and the experience - of pure joy that food brings in. We wanted to go beyond the regular fair to highlight the Hidden Gems from far corners of India, such as street food, dhaaba menus and family restaurants along with the well-established brands. I’ve always felt that there is somehow more soul in the food when people are cooking from the heart. Many times, in large setups the flavour and feelings associated with cooking become more synthetic and plastic-like, unlike home/ street or comfort food.”
He adds, “Of course, we do have a good selection of brands as well but we’ve taken great care to spread them all well with street food carts, restaurants, in-house brands of reputed 5 star hotels, cafés, bakeries, patisseries and regional players.”
Abhishek Mankad, director, 10 Heads Festival, and the inceptor of Foodistaan, states. “From all our research and knowledge about food festival trends from across the world, the one thing we were certain about was – variety and people getting to enjoy the variety and the real essence of a food festival. To encourage that our portion sizes will be smaller (so people can sample far more food) and our price-points are in line to ensure that they can sample more, comfortably. In addition to this, all participants will be doing a special menu with 1-2 dishes, that will only be whipped up for the Foodistaan patrons.”
The mini festival will also be bringing down exclusive pop-up restaurants/bars such as Ibiza’s Bar Barlovento and London’s Mavericks Pizzeria. The participants will include Beer Café, Fat Lulus, Doner Grill, Chaayos, Burger Singh, Queen’s Bar, The Pasta Bowl Company, Rustom’s – Parsi Bhonu, Café Delhi Heights, The Kathis, Faarsi and Raasta.
Regional players will include Mahabelly, Amritsari Kulcha, Kathputli, Delhi Canteena, and Coriander Leaf. Fusion food concepts such as the Videshi Flavours’- Shahi Caesar Salad and Rock & Gosht Mutton Burger will also find a place along with home chefs such as Addicted, Freshly Baked, Berry Tree, Chocazure, and Confiteria from Foodcloud.com.
The Wellness Zone will look at nourishing showcases of the organic universe such as Devang that specialises in researching and offering integrative solutions for human health through organic foods, herbal supplements and natural lifestyle products.
