Core Tip: "The Petrow Food Group can now offer the complete package of both the trading and processing of nuts, seeds, coconuts, dates, and dried fruit."
Petrow Food Group, a UK-based supplier of dried fruit products, has officially opened an 80,000ft² processing and warehouse facility at their 7.2 acre site in Haverhill, Suffolk.

The firm invested £4m on this site, which was opened after Petrow completed a rebranding following its acquisition of Quality Kernals, a nuts and seeds specialist in trading and processing, from Zubrance Group.

The new business was rebranded as Petrow Food Group, which includes Petrow Food Industries and Quality Kernels Ltd.

Petrow has invested £4m in processing and screening facilities at the 7.2 acre site.

The factory will process dried fruit, coconut, date, and nut products (except ground nuts) to cater to the domestic and international markets.

Petrow Food Group sales and procurement director Graham Davenport said: "The new group combines Petro Food Industries' (PFI) leading know-how in chopping, nibbing, pasting, and slicing dried fruit with Quality Kernels' expertise in processing and roasting of a full range of nuts and seeds in a peanut free environment.

"This is in addition to the Group's trading activities of these products, therefore the Petrow Food Group can now offer the complete package of both the trading and processing of nuts, seeds, coconuts, dates, and dried fruit."

The firm stated that it will continue its operations in blending and packaging lines at the Perivale facility in West London.

Production of coconut and dates will move to the Haverhill site this year.

Davenport added: "The strategy for the new site is to provide increased production capacity to support growth within our ingredient product and contract packing business, and to meet increased demand for our wide range of products produced in an environment that meets customers' stringent health and safety standards."
