Core Tip: 100 tonnes of potatoes have been donated this year by the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Naxos to fellow citizens in need.
The distribution took place in Athens, in the Nea Ionia district, last Tuesday, 8 December from 7:30 in the morning. The potatoes were handed out by members of the Union to all who approached, with no questions asked.

President Mr Kapounis thanked the Nea Ionia municipality for their cooperation and the region of Attica for his valuable assistance in the organisation of the free distribution, stating that "the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Naxos is generously handing out its famous potatoes and wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year."

It is worth noting that the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Naxos also donated 150 tonnes of potatoes last year to support those in need, either through soup kitchens of the Church or by handing them out to private citizens.
