Anheuser-Busch InBev has bolstered its craft beer business by purchasing Virginia’s Devils Backbone Brewing Co.
Devils Backbone portfolio of brands includes Vienna Lager, Schwartz Bier and Eight Point IPA.
The deal marks the eighth craft brewery that AB InBev has purchased over the past five years.
No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
Management of Devils Backbone are expected to continue to run the business.
Devils Backbone co-founder and chief executive Steve Crandall said: “While we are joining a creative group of craft breweries in the division, Devils Backbone will retain a high-level of autonomy.”
Devil’s Backbone beer brands will sit alongside AB InBev premium beer brands such as Goose Island Beer Co and Golden Road Brewing.
Founded in 2008, Devils Backbone’s flagship brand is Vienna Lager, which made up nearly 60 percent of its volume growth in 2015.
