Core Tip: The new packaging design offers a colorful illustration of the ready-to-serve fruit, complete with a resealable lid.
After 28 years, Amber Foods, Fresno, Calif., updated the packaging for its Fruit Luau brand of fresh cut fruits and fruit salads for foodservice.

“We’ve all heard the expression, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,’ but after 28 years of the same design, there wasn’t any hesitation about moving forward with the desired update,” says Melissa Steward, director of marketing. “We wanted the packaging to represent what Amber Foods is about today, which basically required complete rebranding of the entire project.”

The new design offers a colorful illustration of the ready-to-serve fruit, complete with a resealable lid. The label comes in English and Spanish, and the product itself comes in 1- to 3-gallon containers for foodservice distribution and retail warehouse club stores.

Amber Foods is a sister company to 1st Quality Produce, also based in Fresno, Calif.
