More than 170 prominent stakeholders, researchers, practitioners and professionals from nutraceuticals, functional foods, dietary supplements and health foods industry from all over India and abroad attended the recently-held Nutrition Summit India 2016.
The event was a conglomeration of various ventures, innovative ideas and endeavouring minds set up on bringing a positive change into the nutrition market, according to a press release issued by Inventicon Business Intelligence, the organisers.
The summit highlighted the growth path of nutraceuticals market in the next five years with regard to regulations, challenges, reforms and areas where immediate government action is required. Detailed sessions focussed on botanical bioactives in preventive healthcare and nanotechnology with their application in nutritional products. Further, sessions centred on paediatric and geriatric nutrition, genomics & epigenomics of diabetes, Vitamin D deficiency and probiotics. It also touched upon topics such as preclinical strategies, nutritional analysis and certification of global standard for safe & effective nutraceuticals. Another topic of discussion was - What are the innovative business models for nutrition security and how to engage different stakeholders to build up the nutrition market landscape in India.
Among the participants, Dr Saurabh Arya, head, medical nutrition, Abbott, described the event, thus, “Good faculty and very interesting sessions.” Dr Barkha Gupta, head, medico regulatory, Cipla, stated, “First ever kind of conference which is so helpful and insightful.” Similar thoughts were shared by other participants.
