Federioco Montes, the deputy minister of Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, said that China stopped importing Uruguay oranges in 2012, and it is of great importance for Uruguay to restart this attractive export market. Based on the new market research results, it is estimated to export 95,000 tons of oranges in 2016.
Based on the information from international bureau of MGAP, China is a strategic market for Uruguay, and it is supposed to research, analyse and adapt to the market demand to find fruit varieties that meet clients' needs.
