Core Tip: Brazil has signed a deal to export agricultural goods to India, including apples.
Brazil has signed a deal to export agricultural goods to India, including apples. The agreement was reached after negotiations between the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Blairo Maggi, and his equivalent in the Indian ministry, Radha Mohan Singh.

It was agreed that the Ministries of Agriculture of Brazil and India woud create a working group to define priorities in agribusiness trade.

"The member countries of the Brics (acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) need to understand more and more, in order to prioritise the food trade," mused the minister. "Food is a guarantee of peace for our countries," he said.

The Indian minister said that his country wants to export onions, grapes, rice, corn, soy and castor oil to Brazil. The Brazilian minister promised to prioritise the request.
