Recently, Tianjin Airport Inspection and Quarantine Bureau intercepted a batch of illegally-carried fresh sea fish from a flight coming from South Korea, finding that a South Korean passenger carried a box of fresh sea fish, which, however, was illegal according to China law. Therefore, staff from the Bureau intercepted the fishes.

The fishes were packaged in a foam box, full of sea bass, small yellow croaker, flounder and other species.

According to the passenger, the fish were for self-use, but he didn’t know the kind of fishes couldn’t be carried by himself when gaining access into China, which must be checked and inspected and go through special customs.

Tianjin Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau also informed that meat product, fresh fruits and vegetables, chilled fresh animals and so on were all prohibited from carrying by passengers themselves, which might carry bacteria, infectious disease and bring hidden damage to public health and safety. Passengers gaining entry into China should know about local laws and regulations to avoid unnecessary losses.
