A brother and sister team from Chipping Norton, John and Ashley Cavers, wanted to do something about the massive amounts of food wasted in the country. This led them on a six month long trial of going to local markets and buying unwanted and ugly produce that wouldn't sell and using them to make relishes.
Their novel idea won a crowdfunding event, Oxfordshire SOUP, and they plan to use the proceeds to rebrand themselves to reach a broader audience. With a recent partnership with local caterer, Laura Snook, they aim to produce new recipes including chilli tomato, onion, green pepper and lime relishes.
They plan on releasing their first products under their newly branded Wonky Food Company to their Chipping Norton store come New Year.
