Loblaw Companies in Canada is recalling President’s Choice brand Smoked Atlantic Salmon sold at one location in Mississauga because it may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum bacteria. This bacteria produces a dangerous toxin that can be fatal. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue.
The recalled products were sold from Valu-mart – Applewood at 1125 Bloor Street East in Mississauga, Ontario. They are President’s Choice brand. Smoked Atlantic Salmon in 112 gram packages is recalled, with UPC number 0 60383 18100 0 and with codes of best before date 16DE29 AND 6983, 7003, OR 7025. Also recalled is Peppercorn Smoked Atlantic Salmon in 112 gram packages. The UPC number is 0 60383 18101 7 and the codes are best before date 16DE29 AND 6983, 7003, OR 7025.
If you purchased either of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed package or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
