Trader Joe’s Chicken and Turkey Salads Recalled for Foreign Materials

Green Cuisine is recalling about 36,854 pounds of chicken and turkey salad products that may be contaminated with foreign materials. Hard silica and glass fragments have been found in the products. Consumer complaints triggered this recall, but no reports of injury or illness have been reported in connection with this problem. The company notified FSIS about this issue on November 17, 2017.

The recalled products are all Trader Joe brand. They include 10.5-ounce clear plastic individual serving packages containing “TRADER JOE’S White Meat Chicken Salad with celery, carrots and green onions” with a “Use By” date of November 10 – 21, 2017; 11.0-ounce clear plastic individual serving packages containing “TRADER JOE’S CURRIED WHITE CHICKEN DELI SALAD with toasted cashews, green onion and a bit of honey” with a “Use By” date of November 10 – 21, 2017; and 10.25-ounce clear plastic individual serving packages containing “TRADER JOE’S TURKEY CRANBERRY APPLE SALAD TURKEY BREAST MEAT WITH SWEET DRIED CRANBERRIES, TANGY GREEN APPLES, PECANS AND SAGE” with a “Use By” date of November 10 – 21, 2017.

The salads were produced from November 4 through November 15, 2017. These product have the establishment number “P-40299” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington.

If you bought these salads, do not eat them even if they look okay. Throw them away in a sealed package or double bag them and put them into a secure garbage can. Or you can return them to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
