The apple growers in India are being faced with a serious problem; due to the Alterniya disease there are immense losses to the crops. Although the apple crops were dealt the biggest blow, other crops also took severe damages.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah visited apple growers at Khiribal in Anantnag, India to see the damages for himself. Hilal Ahmed Shah expressed serious concern for the loss to apple growers and emphasized the Governor N.N. Vora to take effective measures that will benefit apple growers.
For one Shah demanded adequate compensation to apple growers, but also wants the growers to be released of their KCC loans, as these damages will mean they are not able to pay back those loans. According to Kashmir News Service he also assured the growers that the Congress Party will highlight their grievances for their redressal.
