Spalding-based Lincolnshire Field Products (LFP) has delivered pumpkins to Aldi’s UK stores since 2015. As a result of its new agreement, LFP has increased its pumpkin sales by 300 per cent this year. It is set to deliver more than 350 tons of pumpkins.
Since beginning its relationship with Aldi four years ago, LFP has seen its total pumpkin volume increase by 2,500 per cent.
In addition to growing pumpkins for Halloween, LFP also grow and pack brassicas, such as cauliflower and broccoli, says insidermedia.com.
Ben Harris, Aldi commercial account manager at LFP, said: "This year we’ve grown an additional 100 acres of pumpkin crop to service our new contract to supply more Aldi stores. "We’ve been producing pumpkins for Aldi for four years now and have seen demand increase during this. This year’s harvest will be our largest one yet so more customers can enjoy pumpkins this Halloween."
