Ron’s Home Style Foods of Texas is recalling about 6,912 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken salad products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.

The chicken salad products were made on October 22, 2018. They are 5-pound bulk packages of Ron’s Home Style Foods CRANBERRY PECAN WHITE MEAT CHICKEN SALAD with a use by date of 11/25/2018; 5-pound bulk packages of Ron’s Home Style Foods CHICKEN SALAD SUPREME with a use by date of 11/25/2018; 32-lb. bulk packages of Ron’s Home Style Foods THE SANDWICH FACTORY CHICKEN SALAD with a use by date of 11/16/2018; 32-pound bulk packages of Ron’s Home Style Foods HONEY PECAN WHITE MEAT CHICKEN SALAD with a use by date of 11/21/2018; 12-ounce plastic containers of Texas Kitchen Salads Cranberry Pecan White Chicken Salad with a use by date of 11/25/2018; and 12-ounce plastic containers of Texas Kitchen Salads Chicken Salad Supreme with a use by date of 11/25/2018. These items all have the establishment number “P-32049” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to locations in Texas.

If you purchased any of these salads, do not eat them. There is zero tolerance for Listeria monocytogenes bacteria in ready-to-eat products. You can either throw them away in a sealed container, or take them back to the store where you bought them.

Clean out your refrigerator with a mild bleach solution after you throw away the salad. Listeria bacteria can grow at refrigerator temperatures.

If you ate any of these salads, monitor yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Symptoms include stiff neck, high fever, muscle aches, severe headache, diarrhea. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
