A study conducted by Professor Deng Zhenhua and his team in the Department of Forensic Pathology, West China Medical College of Basic Medicine and Forensic Medicine, Sichuan University, found that the intake of fermented dairy products contributed to reducing the overall risk of cancer. Among of them, yogurt had the best anti-cancer effect, and reduced the cancer risk by an average of 19%.

Studies have found that regular yogurt consumption can reduce the risk of esophageal, colon and bladder cancer by 36%, 12% and 21%, respectively. However, studies have also found that drinking too much yogurt increases the risk of prostate and kidney cancer.
