At this stage, our potatoes are in the midst of a high export season. From the overall situation, the export market of potatoes is very satisfactory, especially the volume of orders from Europe, there has been a significant increase compared with previous years and the export price has also shown a continuous upward trend, said Dan Liu, from one of the farmers' cooperatives.
“The increase in purchases from Europe is mainly due to the fact that the hot weather during the summer of 2018 affected the growth of local potatoes, resulting in a significant reduction in production, especially for larger potatoes, which are the basic raw material for French fries. Therefore, European merchants have to turn to China, where potato production is huge, to meet local market demand.
“Under the government’s advocacy of environmentally-friendly farming, the farmland area has decreased from a few years ago, which has led to a decline in total potato production. Even so, due to the vast production area in China, the current production is sufficient to meet local and export demand." “We have adopted a model of joint operation with farmers and agricultural cooperatives across China. Under the strong support of the government, we will gather the agricultural resources of each producing area and supply them according to the specific requirements of the buyers. In terms of potato products, our annual supply can reach 2 million tons. In addition to potatoes, we also supply garlic, carrots, cabbage, ketchup and other products."

"In order to effectively integrate agricultural resources across the country and help farmers expand their sales channels, we are actively looking for new sales markets. At present, our products are mainly exported to Vietnam, Europe and other places. Some products are sold to first-tier cities in China such as Shanghai and Guangzhou."
