Recent data shows that the average price is around 2.72 yuan [0.41 USD] per kg, which is a 12.54% decrease in comparison with last week, and a 12.82% decrease in comparison with the same time last year.
Winter vegetables are gradually leaving the market and spring vegetables are taking their place. The supply volume grows and at the same time, the supply comes from production areas further north. This means that the supply chain becomes shorter and transport costs come down. The same goes for the cost of keeping vegetables fresh. All these factors pull the average vegetable price down.
